CPHS Baseball: Tyler Ash & John Miller sign with Eastern Oklahoma State College

Charles Page High School seniors Tyler Ash and John Miller signed letters of intent Wednesday morning to play baseball for Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Ash is entering his third year on the varsity team and played Center Field and Pitcher as a junior. In his career he has amassed a .268 batting average, .375 slugging average, and .410 on-base percentage with 30 hits, 30 runs, 26 RBI, 2 home runs, and 19 stolen bases. On the mound he holds with a 3-2 record, 3.77 earned run average and 1.46 WHIP with 24 strikeouts in 26 innings.

Miller played his first year of varsity baseball last year and earned an impressive 5-1 record on the mound with a 2.13 ERA, 1.1 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts in 26.1 innings. He saw limited action as a batter, hitting .385 with a .462 slugging average, .467 OBP, 5 hits, 2 runs, 4 RBI, and 1 stolen base.

EOSC is a public community college in Wilburton, Oklahoma competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region II. The Mountaineers went 44-17 last season but will be under new leadership going forward with first-year Head Coach and Athletic Director Matt Parker. Parker was named the 2018 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after taking Oklahoma Wesleyan to a 53-8 record last season.

Ash and Miller will begin their senior season February 11th with a home scrimmage against Booker T. Washington. The Sandites are coming off a 24-12 finish under first-year Head Coach James Garrison. After a 4-6 start to the season they won fourteen games in a row and earned the first place trophy at the Spartan/Tiger Turf War. They went 2-2 at the Regional Championship and were eliminated by State Semifinalist Owasso.
