The Screamin' Eagles landed one hit in the first inning, but couldn't advance the runner, and Sandite pitcher Braden Millican (1-0) struck out the side in the second.

Sand Springs had another explosive inning in the top of the third. Savage singled, then outran a fielder's choice and was joined on base by Watkins. Ty Steelman reached on an error to load the bases. Kameron Adcock reached on an error to score Savage, then Taber singled to score Watkins and Steelman. Thompson singled to score courtesy runner Garrett McCallie and Tolbert singled to score Taber for the 10-0 lead.

Hillcrest scored their lone run in the bottom of the third on an error, but Sand Springs added three more in the top of the fourth.

Brock Youngblood (0-2) relieved Millican on the mound in the bottom of the fifth and pitched one strikeout with no walks or hits. Millican gave up only one hit and two walks in his four innings on the mound and struck out three batters.
