CPHS Softball: Madelyn Blair signs with University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma

Charles Page High School senior pitcher Madelyn Blair signed a letter of intent Wednesday morning to play softball for the defending NAIA National Champions, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

Blair was a four-year starter for the Lady Sandites, pitching and playing infield. She finished her senior season with a .353 batting average, .576 slugging average, .372 on-base percentage, 30 hits, 16 runs, 20 RBI, and 4 home runs. On the mound she went 8-3 with a 1.6 ERA, 1.3 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 75 innings. In her career she amassed a 27-8 record.

USAO is located in Chickasha and competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. They are coming off a 57-5 record, SAC Conference Runner-Up finish, and NAIA National Title under fifth-year Head Coach Jadyn Wallis.

The Lady Sandites won four-straight Regional Championships during Blair’s career, as well as the 2018 Bixby Tournament title and 6A Academic State Titles in 2016 and 2018. They made four State Tournament appearances and one State finals appearance in 2015.

Blair was named to the Academic All-Conference team all four years of her career, made the All-District team in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and the All-Region and All-State teams for the 2018 season.
