Mission Statement:

"Our mission is to improve our city by establishing relationships and building a family that works and stands together and celebrates each others' accomplishments.

We seek to be professional and factual, while maintaining compassion and honesty. We will report relevant stories in a timely manner from a positive perspective.

We will perform community outreach and look for opportunities to improve the quality of our environment. We will partner with local businesses, churches, youth groups, and other organizations, and support their visions for this community."

Purpose:

Sandite Pride's goals are many, but they all stem from a love of our town and our kids. We provide full coverage of all Sand Springs athletics, track stats, maintain historical records, and more--all at no cost to our schools. We are a free news source and we hope to continue to support our mission through donations and advertising without having to pass that cost on to our readers.

If your business would like to sponsor our coverage or advertise on our site, please reference our Media Kit. If you would like to make a donation toward our cause and help us to maintain our free services, please use the Donate button below.

History:

Sandite Pride wasn't born out of a desire to make money or with the expectation of incorporating.

In the fall of 2014, Scott Jordan Emigh and Morgan Renae Miller were leaders at Forward Youth Ministries and began attending the Sandite football games to support some the Forward kids who were on the team. While there, Scott would post scoring updates on Facebook and MaxPreps.

The Sandite Pride Facebook page was created in November of 2014 with the goal of providing a centralized source for scoring updates, game times, and other information.

In December of 2014 Scott began live scoring basketball for the first time.

In January of 2015 the Sandite Pride Twitter account was launched and Scott began live scoring wrestling for the first time.

On February 21, 2015, Scott tried his hand at writing a basketball article and uploaded it to Facebook. At the end of that month, the Sandite Pride Website was launched. At this point it was still intended to be simple blogging and recording results without any thoughts of forming a company or making a profit.

In July of 2015, Scott began doing special features on each of the Sandite wrestlers and their careers. He was also hired as the Staff Writer for Harper's Hut Shaved Ice, writing daily promotional articles.

In August of 2015, Scott covered his first non-athletic event, the Word of Life Free Community Carnival. That month Scott was approached by Kirk McCracken, Managing Editor at the Sand Springs Leader. Scott began covering Softball, Volleyball, and Football for the Leader. While Scott focused on the statistics and storytelling, Morgan took over live-scoring and began assisting with photography and video.

In September of 2015, the Sandite Pride Instagram and Youtube accounts were launched. Scott and Morgan began creating hype videos before each football game to post on Social Media.

By November of 2015, Scott's success with the Sandite Pride and Harper's Hut websites had fully rekindled his childhood dream of being a full time writer. Scott ceased writing for the Leader and began fully investing himself in Sandite Pride, with the goal of complimenting the Leader, not competing. The purpose was to try and cover the things that the Leader didn't cover, to make sure that nobody working hard to make Sand Springs a better place would go unnoticed.

In December of 2015, the Sandite Pride Website received more than 5,000 views.

In January of 2016, Sandite Pride received over 20,000 from 12,000 readers. January 5th set a single-day record with more than 3,000 unique visitors.

In March of 2016, Sandite Pride surpassed 1,000 "likes" on Facebook.

In May of 2016, Scott recruited Teri Emigh to handle the Sandite Pride finances and Virgil Noah and Morgan Miller as part-time writers/contributors.

On June 3, 2016, Sandite Pride News, LLC was officially incorporated in the State of Oklahoma. Scott quit his career in the energy sector and devoted himself to Sandite Pride full time.

In August of 2016, Sandite Pride surpassed 2,000 "likes" on Facebook.

On October 19, 2016, Sandite Pride set a new single-day record with over 4,000 unique visitors.

By the end of 2016, Sandite Pride had amassed nearly 7,000 monthly readers.

In January of 2017, Sandite Pride set a new viewership record of 20,644 views, and immediately broke that record in February with 27,453 views.
